Sunday, March 13, 2005 Fishing Report

After finally getting the fish finder installed and using it for the first time, I was determined today to get us out to a reef and do some real reef fishing.   What actually happened though, were plans cut short, and a beating we won't soon forget.

We originally planned to go to the Edison Reef, some 14 miles off of the Sanibel Light House.  We were so beat about 4 miles into it that we decided to divert to the closer Evan Thompson Reef.  It was still a beating getting out there.

We got there and fished for a while, and I am ashamed to say we received not even a single bite for our pain.

Headed back and fished Sanibel Bridge Span A for a while.  Had a friendly hungry pelican nearby waiting for us to throw an undersized catch to him.  Was actually concerned that he would get hooked by a cast.

Not much to show for today.

Water temperature was about 68.
