Saturday, March 19, 2005 Fishing Report

The kids arrived in town early this morning and I promised we'd do some fishing!

We started the day in mid-afternoon with a dozen live shrimp.  Made an attempt to fish the Mangroves just south of Fisherman Key for the first time ever.  No luck but we saw tons of bait fish jumping.  Foolishly, I did not bring a net.  That won't happen again!

Headed to the south side of Sanibel Bridge Span A and anchored.  Had lots of bites and early on with a slow incoming tide. Dada (11 years old) caught a 10-12" Spanish Mackeral.  Right after that Pipi caught what we think is a Whiteing about same size at 10-12".  This excitement lasted for hours as like mentioned earlier, we had lots of bits.  Caught a couple of catfish after that but the rest of the day was blah.

We did catch a great sunset.

Headed in with a real ego after dark.

Water temperature was about 72.
