Friday, April 1, 2005 Fishing Report
We left about 4:00pm once again and went fishing in the river, north of the channel, south of Cape Coral. Karla had a right away and just as she was about to land it it broke loose. But it did appear to be about 12-14" with a black stripe length-wise. Not sure what it was. UPDATE: We think this was a snook! A first for both Karla and us!
Then I caught a trout.

Karla caught a small Whiting. Then she caught a slender 14" lady fish.
Then she caught a very strange looking fish. Ahh we found out that it is a flounder! First time for us:

Then we headed to the island with the broken up pier. No luck there.
Then we headed to the Sanibel bridge and areas north and south of the bridge. No luck there.
Of course we had the usual mix of catfish of all sizes through the day and evening. And as usual no fish other than catfish after sunset.
Got back about 11:00pm.
Water temp was upper 70s.
Bait used was strictly live shrimp, and halved live shrimp.
