Saturday, April 9, 2005 Fishing Report

Today it was chores at home including bathroom cleaning, laundry, and other fun stuff.

Then it was fishing time.  Picked up a dozen live shrimp, and frozen calamari.  We headed out about 3:00pm to the usual area that we have been going to (see the past few fishing reports).  Most of the day I used live shrimp, and occasionally I used halved shrimp or calamari.  Today the ball was in my court.  I first caught a 12 inch Spotted Seatrout.  And I should also state that it was a first for me!

Then I caught what I think was a Sand Trout...

We had a bit more sunlight today thanks to getting started earlier than usual, and Daylight Savings Time.  So we decided to head out towards Sanibel.  We stopped by the middle span and drifted east at over 2 MPH.  Then almost at the same time, both the wife & I caught what I believe they were a pair of small Cervalle Jacks.

Karla didn't have much luck today.  We previously stopped at Captain Harry's Fising Supply in Miami earlier in the week and picked up some interesting lures.  She was pretty interested in trying these new lures but had very little luck.  Later, she began with live shrimp and soon caught this:

As usual, we caught another great sunset!

Amber had a blast playing with the shrimp and fish in the bait well.

Those darn things really shrink.

Water temperature was 76-78.

It was very chilly around and after sunset.
