Saturday, May 14, 2005 Fishing Report
Today we began with 2 dozen live shrimp that quickly went dead before we could get them in the bait well.
Most of us were sick today, and so it was just Carlos and myself. I'm generally a "rain or shine" type. And even after almost burning my finger off last night after shorting out a car battery on my wedding ring, I was still ready to go fishing.
Headed out about 2pm. Went to the river spot where we have had some luck in the past. Drift fished and caught quite a few cockroaches. Was becoming a blah day until I picked up a whiting, spotted seatrout, and a jack.
Here I am with the "good sized" jack.

Don't let the trick-photography fool you; I'm holding him way out in front of me!
Both Carlos and I caught monster Cockroaches (catfish). Here he is bringing in his monster:

I was quite disappointed by the three non-cockroaches I caught as they were tiny; no more than 6-8 inches or so.
Water temperature was 80-81.
Anyone recognize this guy?:

We were back about 6:00pm.
