CLICK ON THE PICS for full size ones
Friday, May 27, 2005 Fishing Report
The evening started about 6:15pm. There were several reasons we went out tonight.
A boy in Amb's class is moving away to Virginia this summer, so we invited him, his mother, and 2 younger brothers over for a boat ride. We explored Whiskey Creek for the first time. Quite a scenic route. And looks like there could be good fishing back in there with all the mangroves.
Here is the sun setting over that extraordinary piece of human craftsmanship:

It looked like the Yacht Club Pier was starting to get busy with fisherman anxious to get their Memorial Day Weekend started:

The kids had a great time as usual:

After we came back and dropped them off, we went out again and this is where the "fishing trip" starts.
On the way out, we heard some chatter on channel 16 regarding people only catching catfish at the CC Bridge. We headed out and anchored at the CC Bridge (which is were we were going to go anyway). On every cast I caught catfish. Used, once again, frozen shrimp. Karla had no luck with her lure. We saved several and I tried, for the first time, to use the catfish tail method for fishing for those wild Tarpon. No luck however.
The night ended with most of us asleep on board, and heading back in about 1:00am.
Water temperature was about 82-84. Tide was medium strength outgoing. Wind was light.
I will make it a point to make our next report a report worth reading.
