"On a mission"

Tonight after dark I picked up a dozen shrimp.  And boy were the shrimp lively.  Amber & I headed out on the boat about 7:30pm or so as the moon gained height in the sky.  Tonight's goal was to fish the dock lights.  Line used is 20lb green Power Pro, Albright joined to 3 foot 20lb mono leader, to a circle hook.

We visited a total of 6 dock lights, but only certain dock lights had fish under them.  There was a particular light, a green light, that the fish were biting the most.  That particular light is where I could have sworn that I caught a snook but I quickly found out it was this:

8:19pm
A 17 inch spotted sea trout.  What a surprise.

This catch occurred early on.  Amber was pivotal in the success of this catch because when I felt the bite she said "Daddy, not yet...wait wait."  If I were to pull right away I probably would not have hooked him!

After Amber and I were getting a few nibbles and our bait completely eaten, we headed back to land for a short time.

Trip 2
Carlos & Pipi came this time.  The moon was high overhead.  Once again got many nibbles...  Even a hookup but lost it at the surface.  Then I started catching catfish...  2-3 of them.  The last kept my hook and the excitement was getting less so we headed back at about 11:45pm.

Summary
The particular dock lights have been loaded with fish since I noticed them last week.  The fish aren't spooked easily either.  However, THEY DON'T EAT!  I was using lively shrimp and could pass it right in front of them and they could care less.  I don't understand this!  Also, I thought all I was seeing were snook.  But after tonight's trout catch, I now wonder what the ratio is between snook, trount, and whatever else (I did see a mullet at one light too).
