"  Mostly catfish with a few tiny suprises.  "

Today would have been ideal for an early morning departure but just wasn't going to happen.  We left land about 4:45pm with frozen cut spanish mack and squid, and headed toward Cape Coral bridge.  We drifted on the north from west to east on the outgoing.   Then we anchored very close to the pilings.

It was just a dead zone, as usual, because we got no bites.

We did watch some very foolish kids climb to the top of the Cape Coral Bridge and jump off:

We called Cape PD but they said that was the Sheriff's Department jurisdiction.  So we called LCSO and there was no answer.  I also announced it over VHF 16.  The kids came and went and about 25 minutes later FWC and the Coast Guard shows up.

Later we headed south of the Cape and drifted.  I caught a lizard fish and a tiny sand perch.

Mr. Sand Perch later performed and sung a song by AC/DC.

Later we caught some live bait (skinny shiners) at a dock light.  Then we spyed some nice snook at another light.  I tried and tried but they would not hit my bait.  Typical behavior in my experience.

Then we anchored in the channel that goes to Shell Point.  It is 22 feet there and I dropped the big daddy 10/0 hook down, but all I got were monster catfish.  We caught about 10 2-3" crabs over the course of a couple hours as they drifted by the boat on the surface.

Back on land by 12:45am.
