" Things Have Quieted Down "
Karla was interested in going fishing so I also caught fishing fever. We left land at 11:55am in search of bait at Picnic Island. We ended up with small pins and shiners getting gilled in the net. We also got a few bigger ones.
We drift-fished toward Sanibel Causeway Span A and ended up going in for a swim before the bridge.
Then we drifted across the flats on the outside of Span A and that is when we started catching shark after shark after shark. We continued drifting for several hours and even went well beyond the Lani Kai on Ft. Myers Beach.
We also had this bird around us alot. Quite often he would go under, then come up with a big unusual fish, then somehow gulp it down.

Quite often he would go under, then come up with a big unusual fish, then somehow gulp it down.
There was not much more caught other than small sharks, tiny sharks, and a catfish or two. It seems that the water is quite warm, and may have driven the trout away(?)
However, there was a beautiful sunset this evening:
After sunset we drifted around the bay with the submersible green fluorescent light. There were many baitfish, small shrimp, and small crabs around us.
As we headed back we took a look at a few snook lights on the way. They were all loaded with snook and mullet.
We were back on land at 12:40am.
