" Things are way quiet "
After our Keys trip last weekend, Karla was very excited about going fishing today. So we left land at 8:50am, Karla with high hopes.
We caught small bait near Picnic Island and headed to York Island.
After drifting south from YI we ended up going into the shallow bay between YI and Chino Island. We, as usual, saw numerous jumpers throughout this great flats area, but unfortunately could not get anything to take our bait.
Then we went to Chino Island where once again nothing was biting.

Then we drifted back toward York Island and passed an island engulfed with black birds:

Amber and Spike were exhausted after a while:

We went here and there, and throughout the day Karla caught some small sharks, and I caught a trout. But that was it.
We got some absolutely fantastic Mother Nature pictures:
As we were headed back, a mosquito plan was laying a heavy blanket of chemical on the southern end of the city, right over us. I periodically felt a burning in my eyes after this. Karla and Amber covered up under cloth to prevent any chemical irritation.
We were back on land at 11:15pm.
