" Went To Another Reef "
We were planning to go fishing on Saturday, but it just didn't work out. However, today, Karla went to Miami and so the team would be Carlos, Jr., Amber, Spike, and myself. We left land at 10:25am, and then we caught lots of bait near Sanibel Causeway Span A - a mix of 2 inch shiners and pinfish.
We headed directly for the Causeway Reef. The surf was mostly calm and it was an easy ride out there. We got there about... The water was a clear green...very nice.
There were about 4 boats there already but the Causeway Reef is spread over a wide area, so we found our place and anchored. But fishing was very slow. All day I believe I caught only 3 little red groupers.
Later in the afternoon, everyone began leaving, and we were last to go. The surf was rocking us so hard that it was definitely time to go. So we made the bumpy trip back to the lighthouse and took a dip for a while. Then we fished the cut on the inside of the bay, but there were nothing but catfish in that ugly brown outgoing tide.
And surprisingly, this catfish wanted something to drink:

We zig zagged a bit to avoid the storms, and ended up coming home and back on land at 9:05pm.
