" Windy Day & Poor Bite "
Karla has been wanting to go fishing for the last few weekends and I have not felt that up to it. But I finally wanted to take her out so we planned a day in advance. Today we left at 7:40am, just her and I. The seas were quite choppy as I had expected, so reef fishing was out of the question.
We first stopped to search for bait on the NW side of Picnic Island, but found none. Then we went to the south side of PI and ended up catching 100% pinfish, and some very good sized ones (6 inches).
We then headed to York Island but there was no bite there. Then we headed to Span C to drift NW-bound through the bay, and I had my large pinfish bitten several times by apparent sharks, but I was not able to hook them.
Karla caught a catfish.
We took a pitstop at Woody's, a waterfront restaurant in St. James City. That is a nice place; we might eat there some time.
We were back on land at 4:25pm.
