Windows XP is a serious resource hog.
I thought Windows 2000 over Windows 98 was bad when I first began using
it. However, I rely heavily on Windows 2000 now as a stable,
robust OS with many usable features.
Update March 21, 2003:
I am so sick of Windows XP. It is terribly slow, and this is no exaggeration.

Blue Screen Of Death Nightmare
If you are like me, you don't download executables and install them
onto your computer unless 1) you need it, and 2) you know it was written
by a reputable software manufacturer. But, if your computer is feeling
blue or otherwise choked up without apparent reason, try a few things
first:
- Start up in safe mode, run sysedit, and make sure there is no "garbage"
in any of your system files.
- Remove all but the bare essentials from your computer. In other
words, keep your mouse, keyboard, and monitor hooked up only.
- Do the solve all fix all trio: FDISK / FORMAT / REINSTALLATION OF
WINDOWS, my personal favorite because it clears all of the installed
junk you downloaded over the months.
